RIDE LOTS. PLAY LOTS.

Mountain Bike Lessons, Guided Tours, and Group Events

Why take a mountain bike lesson? Everyone knows how to ride a bike, right? Well yes, most of us have been riding bikes since we were kids, however, mountain biking is VERY different from road riding. SAFE and FUN mountain biking require a whole set of skills that don’t come naturally to most of us. We need to learn to move all over the bike, adjusting our posture and position so the bike does what we want it to do. Braking, pedaling and shifting become key skills for bike control, not just a means to stop and go. We need to learn to use our bodies to absorb the rough stuff rather than getting knocked around.

Don’t let fear stand in your way of enjoying this wonderful activity, let us help you discover the joy. Perhaps you’ve ridden with friends and feel there must be something more to mountain biking than just hanging on for dear life and hoping the rubber stays on the ground! Classes are tailored for SAFETY and FUN at all levels and you’ll always be in control of your own experience. All classes start with a flatland fun skills warm up and then it’s off to a sweet trail ride at your comfort level.

If you’re an experienced rider you might be surprised how quickly you’ll progress after you are introduced to the skills in our Level 2 or Bike Balance Skills clinics. It’s interesting to note that at every ICP course I’ve been through, even the most accomplished riders had AH HA moment after AH HA moment when clinicians introduced specific fundamental skills they never knew.

We also offer Guided Rides and Shuttles on some of our classic rides in the beautiful Kettle Moraine State Forest. What better way to see the trails than with an experienced guide with intimate knowledge of the trails and the area in general. We also can help you secure quality bike rentals and steer you towards great post ride refueling stops!

LESSONS

Most of us have grown up riding bikes, but the skills required for safe and fun mountain biking are very special. Why not let an IMBA Certified ICP Skills Instuctor show you the way. If you’ve been riding for a while,  but just winging it, you’ll surely be surprised to learn the secrets of balanced, smooth, and fast riding.

GUIDED TOURS

John Muir, Emma Carlin, Connector Loop! So many trails, so little time!  Our local IMBA ICP Guides would love to show you around so you ride the right terrain for your skills and see all the cool stuff!  Spend your time playing, not reading maps!  Check out our Explore the Kettles and One Way Home rides for a special experience!

Learning to do Track Stands, Rocking and Hopping, will boost your confidence and maneuverability on the trail. Plus, it’s a blast to work on these skills and you can do it right in your own backyard or driveway.
