SIMPLE SECRETS OF MOUNTAIN BIKING !

Did you know that there are some SIMPLE SECRETS of mountain biking that are very unique to the sport? Mountain biking is very different from road biking. It’s all too common for folks to rent a MTB, hit the trails, ride it like a road bike, and have a miserable time. My greatest joy is working with folks that want to try mountain biking but are a little reluctant. Learning the Simple Secrets will unlock the door to many safe and wonderful mountain adventures. If you’re reasonably active, you can do it!

These lessons are for you if…
– You want to ride but are a little afraid.
– You are a kid that wants to learn right from the beginning.
– Families that want to have an awesome adventure.
– Have had a bad experience.
– Have had a “ just follow me lesson” from friends.
– You want to get the Simple Secrets down so the sky is the limit.
– You are an ER Docs that has seen how important skills are!

Why take a mountain bike lesson? Everyone knows how to ride a bike, right? Well yes, most of us have been riding bikes since we were kids, however, mountain biking is VERY different from road riding. SAFE and FUN mountain biking require a whole set of skills that don’t come naturally to most of us. We need to learn to move all over the bike, adjusting our posture and position so the bike does what we want it to do. Braking, pedaling and shifting become key skills for bike control, not just a means to stop and go. We need to learn to use our bodies to absorb the rough stuff rather than getting knocked around.

Don’t let fear stand in your way of enjoying this wonderful activity, let us help you discover the joy. Perhaps you’ve ridden with friends and feel there must be something more to mountain biking than just hanging on for dear life and hoping the rubber stays on the ground! Classes are tailored for SAFETY and FUN at all levels and you’ll always be in control of your own experience. All classes start with a flatland fun skills warm up and then it’s off to a sweet trail ride at your comfort level.

We also offer Guided Rides and Shuttles on some of our classic rides in the beautiful Kettle Moraine State Forest. What better way to see the trails than with an experienced guide with intimate knowledge of the trails and the area in general. We also can help you secure quality bike rentals and steer you towards great post ride refueling stops!

LESSONS

Most of us have grown up riding bikes, but the skills required for safe and fun mountain biking are very special. Why not let an IMBA Certified ICP Skills Instuctor show you the way. Then we load up the bikes on the KMAC Shuttle and head to a sweet section of the not often ridden Connector Loop. Next, it’s off to Emma Carlin for a Red or Orange Loop before returning home. Trail choice at each venue can vary depending on rider ability and your desires. Distance varies between 6 and 8 miles, and with shuttle time we will be out for 2 to 2.5 hrs.
